Pjur Espresso waterbased lubricant

Pjur Espresso is a water-based lubricant with caffeine. Initially, I thought that it was also espresso flavoured, the packaging to me looks like that’s what it would be, but its not. I think the packaging for this reason is very misleading. Unless you read the crazy-small print on the back, stating that it’s tasteless, it looks to be espresso flavoured.

Consistency wise, it’s very similar to Pjur Woman Nude, which is why I don’t have a whole lot to say. They’re very similar. I think the Espresso gets stickier quicker, so reapplying or reactivating happens a lot more, and it feels less natural. It leaves behind the same annoying sticky residue on my skin.

The main differences between the two is that the Pjur Woman Nude is more vagina friendly, whereas the Espresso is closer to just your average lube.

Pjur Espresso ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Propylene Glycol, Glycerin (Glycerol), Ethoxydiglycol, Caffeine, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.

I was dreading trying the Espresso. I didn’t ask for it to review because I’m not a coffee fan, I don’t drink hot drinks much, but when I do, it’s tea. Frankly, I find coffee kind of gross. Espresso is like, super coffee flavoured, I was expecting to absolutely hate it. I considered filming my initial reaction because I expected it to be hilarious to see. Turns out, had I read the packaging, I would have realized that it’s not actually coffee flavoured. It’s just “Powered by Caffeine”. All that dread for nothing.

The caffeine is supposed to give sensation, and help arousal. A cup of coffee for your genitals. I haven’t noticed any affect. I’ve smothered my vulva in lube and haven’t felt so much as a tingle. When I had a fan blowing on my lubed up vulva, I felt a minor tingle, but I suspect that was because of the situation.

I prefer the taste of the Pjur Espresso over the apparently tasteless Woman Nude. Woman Nude has a very strong chemically sweet taste, the Espresso is mostly tasteless, as it claims. It has a very, very slight tang to it, but that’s it. The tang does have a tendency to linger in my mouth if I don’t actively wash it out.

Pjur Espresso is an average lubricant that does its job. I don’t get any added stimulation from the caffeine in there, although more sensitive people may. It’s not the best lube, but it’s also not the worst.

If you want to try he Pjur Espresso for yourself, you can pick some up straight from Pjur, or from JOUJOU.

I was sent this product in exchange for my honest review.

Pjur Woman Nude is a paraben and glycerin free water-based lubricant. This formula of Pjur boasts no preservatives, oils, perfumes or other added stuff that could possibly cause a bad reaction on sensitive skin.

Now, I don’t have sensitive skin, not in the traditional way. My skin hates any and all forms of hair removal, but I don’t get any negative reactions to lotions or lubes. I know it’s not odd for others to react to lube though, so I try my best to review lubes that are less likely to lead to that.

Pjur Woman Nude has a few ingredients: Aqua (Water), Propylene Glycol, Ethoxydiglycol, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Hydroxyethyl cellulose, Sodium Saccharin and Citric Acid.

That’s a lot of words I don’t know the meaning of. Which, generally, isn’t a good sign when it comes to things you’re sticking in your bits. A quick Google search of each of them doesn’t immediately show anything sinister and I trust that those with allergies, or sensitivities, know what causes aggravation for them.

The consistency of this lube is pretty average. It’s runny but not too runny, so it doesn’t make an escape as soon as I put it on a toy. When I rub it over a toy it gets kind of patchy, which is apparently normal. I don’t pay much attention to how lube goes on silicone, as it turns out, I’d never noticed this before now.

Pjur Woman Nude is water-based so it’s suitable for any material in any hole that you could possibly dream of. It feels relatively natural, I don’t rub it on myself and feel like my vagina is being smothered, but it doesn’t feel quite as not-there as my Sliquid H2O does. Continue reading »
